For seven months we travelled across Europe and put up our messages in seven cities of our continent: Ficken statt Facebook! Lieben statt liken! Tanzen statt Twittern! Exit Social Media! Regulate Big Tech! Stop Digital Dystopia!
But if we’re honest, we can no longer stop the digital dystopia — we are already living in it. We no longer control the algorithms; the algorithms control us.
Ten years ago, after Brexit and before the election of Donald Trump, we published the RASF Manifesto. Back then, we lamented the worship of new prophets from Silicon Valley, the corrosion of our society by lies, hate and violence, and the exploitation of our attention. Today we have to admit: it turned out even worse than we feared.
On Instagram and LinkedIn, we chase the Next Nobody, while many people are dying of loneliness. Populists and autocrats flood the net with disinformation, while fully automated killer drones populate the battlefields of this earth. Children and young people are less and less able to read a text, let alone understand one, while their synapses collapse under a flood of short videos.
We fucked it up, and it can’t go on like this. Delete your social media accounts. Libraries, bars, museums, cinemas, sports grounds: reclaim the algorithm-free spaces. Bear with contradiction. Never stop hoping that better days will come. The RASF European Tour 2026 is drawing to a close. But somehow, somewhere and someday, our rebellion will continue.
